Help Alexandria Finish College With a Laptop

Hi friends,
I have recently been readmitted to New College of Florida and am ecstatic to be back. I started college at a very young age and have had a non-traditional path at an already non-traditional college, but once I finish a little more coursework (mostly an Independent study project, and completing my thesis) I plan to graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy! I have a forty-page draft of my thesis which I will develop further this summer and return full-time to campus this fall.
This is where you all come in.
Earlier this year I dropped my Macbook Air on a sidewalk during a moment of panic related to PTSD, and the screen shattered.
As you can see, this renders the laptop unusable. I consulted with a local repair shop, and they advised me that right now the prices of Macbook laptop screens are so inflated that by the time I replaced the screen I may as well replace the laptop with an economical refurbished Macbook at about $900.
However a significant portion of my fall 2020 classwork, including significant academic research, reading notes and final essays from the semester were saved not to the cloud but to my now broken laptop. I need to recover the data and move it to my 1 TB external hard drive to move forward. I don’t know the exact cost, but $500 will likely cover it.
It’s almost impossible for me to work and earn money without my laptop, which is why I am seeking to raise funds. I will also use the laptop to work this summer and pay rent, so this is a super important goal for me even though my New College semester doesn’t begin until August this year. I am hoping the community can pool together on this, and I can use my stimulus check to catch up on rent & resume my academic work ASAP. As I reach my goal I will post receipts for any purchases I make with funds raised. Thank you all so much for helping a fellow New College student finish her degree. :)
Hugs,
Alexandria
