Gizmos palette surgery
Donation protected
Our beautiful boy gizmo (chihuahua) last Thursday was attacked by a pitbull, we ran out to him screaming and rushed straight to an emergency 24hr vet, he was put in an oxygen tank straight away to help him breath as he has 2 puncher wounded on his palette. As much as we would have loved his to stay in this vet we were given a quote of 7500 which didn’t include his take home medicines so he stayed the night there and we payed $1400 and took him to our local vet where he still is today. He was put under sedation last Saturday to see the exact damage of his palette, the vet didn’t realise how large the puncher wounds were and unfortunately it was not going to be an easy surgery to just stitch up, the vet said he would have to fold his palette to get more skin to cover the holes if this makes sense. Gizmo had his palette surgery on Monday and is stable but has had to stay in the vet hospital to be monitored and to make sure he gets enough fluids and food through the tube. We have been given a $1900 quote. It is still a quote as gizmo had his surgery Monday but has had to stay in hospital for this long and the bill keeps going up. We are asking for help for our beautiful boy he is 10 months old and is apart of our family and we just want him home back in our bed running around like a zertec ❤️ at the end of the day we just want our boy home healthy.
Any bit of help would be great we just want our boy home
I would like to add that I was granted by vet pay 885$ which leave a subtotal of $1060.90.
And in 2 weeks time we have been told this morning gizmo will have to have revision surgery as the tissue at the front of the palette has died off. 21.3.21 Which is an estimate of another $2000 or more depending on how surgery goes for his revision surgery.
If anyone would like to donate to gizmos surgery you can directly to the vet into his account at the vet.
