Dan's Fight with stage IV cancer
Donation protected
Dear family, friends, and supporters,
Daniel P. Connolly (55) of Natick, MA was having trouble completely swallowing and digesting his food a couple months ago. As it continued to worsen, it started affecting his daily eating habits and triggered a weight loss. Concerned, Dan scheduled an appointment to get checked out. Unfortunately, one doctor visit led to many more having to complete a CT scan, followed by a colonoscopy and endoscopy. After reviewing results, there was a mass found on the bottom of his esophagus (opening to the stomach) and the lining of the stomach walls were thickened. Finally, after a PET scan, further review, & a second opinion at Dana Farber in Boston...
Daniel was diagnosed with advanced stage IV stomach cancer.
As we all know, last year was real tough due to the impact of the virus for all of us. For my father, it carried over into 2021 with an unimaginable difficulty. Anyone who knows him, knows he would take on someone’s pain in a second to relieve them of their suffering! He is a loving, caring, unselfish guy with a big ol’ sense of humor. For 3+ years now, our Dad has been living a sober lifestyle. He is an active member in the AA and feels deeply rewarded by the time spent at meetings with his local community. Not only is he a great listener but he affects many people (more than he realizes) with his wise words and stories from experience that has made him the man he is today. Since moving back, filling a void of the past, & making tremendous changes, he has been such an impactful member of our family and a great father to me and my siblings. My father has installed flooring his entire life and taught me the trade and much more throughout my 29 years. With chemotherapy starting this week, he's continued to work alongside me from the day he received the first diagnosis!
He is a fighter! In this dreadful situation, we need to fight alongside him!
This tough road ahead will bring extensive financial burdens.
Contributions will be in regards to special diets, medical travel, bills, lack of income, daily living costs, and whatever God has planned next.
Whether its 1 cent, a hug, a meal, a prayer, or a phone call...
Anything contributed is more than appreciated and our family thanks you!
Children: Maxwell, Sarah, Jessica, Patrick
Siblings: Patricia, Nancy, John
All his nieces, nephews, and many close friends!
And from above, the late Mrs. Eleanor "Grammy" Connolly
