Help Abraham's & Victims Rebuild!

A note of thanks from Linda:
"I am so overwhelmed by the generosity and support we at Abe's have received from our families, friends, customers and, well from everyone. I have read your comments and am so overcome with emotion. I never realized how much love and support we had. You just get up in the morning, go to work, socialize with your employees and customers and say well that was a good day.......You never realize the character and integrity of your customers. So many happy memories we all share.

Abraham's Bagels will rebuild. I know it will take time, but I have the best employees and customers in the world and we will get it done. I wish I could thank and hug each of you individually. I felt like I was in a coma for three days after the fire, but each day is better.

I cannot thank Jess Caven and Hillary Larson for starting this fund. I also would like to thank the first responders for their Herculean effort put forth to save us and our neighbors. I would like to thank Mayor Donna Holiday and the city officials who have been so helpful. The Chamber of Commerce, all the other businesses and the city have been incredibly supportive.

I also want you to know we have offered to share the fund with Buttermilk Baking Company, Liberty Law and Haul Over for whatever needs they may have.

Again, words cannot express the depth of my gratitude. We love you all. THANK YOU.

Linda Garcia"

Original Post:
In the early morning hours of June 27th, a devastating fire ripped through our beloved Abraham's Bagels and other tenants of the Liberty Street building. Abraham's is one of the pillars of our community and we want to help them rebuild as quickly as possible!

In our effort to launch the campaign, we approached the other businesses impacted by the fire and they all agreed the campaign proceeds should be directed to Abraham's.

For those of you asking if Abraham's has insurance, yes they do. Having said that, collecting insurance money can be a very lengthy process and the money received will likely not cover the full cost to rebuild. Additionally, Abraham's employees will be out of work for an indefinite period of time with lost wages, not to mention the lost revenue for the business as a whole during the busiest time of the year. They have given so much to us over the years and we feel this is a small way to repay their kindness in the face of this tragedy.

Each dollar given will go directly to Linda (owner of Abraham's) to help her and her employees bring Abe's back to life. Linda is aware of the fundraising campaign and is deeply grateful for all of the donations and support of her business and her staff.

Please consider making a donation, however small (the cost of a bagel!)!

Thank You!
