Let's DEAL with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease)
Donation protected
Hi my name is Nick Brahms, the starting center for the Auburn Tigers Football Team. One of my teammates, Tight End Luke Deal, #86, recently found out his dad Chris was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) - also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This is a neuromuscular disease that targets nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain.
This is the same disease that NFL player Steve Gleason was diagnosed with. In this documentary, Gleason explains what a family goes through with this almost always fatal disease.
I have attached a Facebook post from Luke's mom, Leah...
This is my beautiful, strong, courageous family. ♥️ … If we have spoken in the last 6 months, you know why I’m posting about the strength and courage of my crew.
In January, the love of my life was diagnosed with ALS - a diagnosis we all prayed so hard against. Through all the tears, fears, sadness, and pain, the Lord has provided us with just enough courage and strength to get through each day. We continue to put our hope and trust in the Lord and are holding on to his promises for us and for our family. Though the challenges we will face in the days that lie ahead will surely be great, we believe God is Greater.
We are so very thankful for all of our precious family and friends who have prayed for us, sent us encouraging notes, visited us, supported us, loved on us, and showered us with unexpected gifts and unselfish acts of love and service. We love you all so dearly and are forever grateful for each of you. As the wonderful, faithful, godly father and husband that he always has been, Chris continues to be our family’s valiant protector, our rock, and our inspiration. Each time I find myself in a place of despair, he somehow finds the perfect encouragement to pull me out and nudge me forward to keep going. His sweet reminders that, “although we have to go ‘there’ sometimes, we just can’t stay there” shine a light of hope every single day in our home. His strength amazes me. We have resolved not to let this terrible disease beat us twice … Though it is completely overwhelming, we will continue to fight and will continue to hope. ♥️
Let's show the Deal Family what the AUBURN FAMILY is all about. Let's help relieve as much of the financial burden of the medical needs that Chris will need as ALS progresses as possible.
Thank you for considering making a donation to this fundraiser for the Deal Family. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
