HELP REGINA HAMPSON HEAL FROM GUNSHOT TRAUMA

Donation protected

*** Please help Regina Hampson, mother of 3, heal from an accidental gunshot wound, sustained while trying to selflessly help a friend suffering from mental illness. ***

On Saturday, April 3, 2021 there was a tragic incident that occurred in the home of Jason Culley and Regina Hampson, that left Regina suffering from a horrific gunshot wound, primarily to her face.

As many of you know, Jason and Regina have a beautiful, blended family including three children: Avery, Emmett, and Falon. They are an incredibly loving family, and their door is always open. They had, more recently, taken in someone who was trying to get their life back on track, who was, unbeknownst to them, quietly suffering from mental health issues.

On Saturday, April 3rd Regina walked in on their roommate, as he was suffering an acute mental breakdown. Their roommate had a loaded shotgun, and was intending to kill himself. Regina intervened, and there was a struggle. As a result, Regina was shot with a 12 gauge shotgun. The majority of the damage was done to Regina’s face and hand.

Regina is currently in Vancouver, undergoing surgery in an attempt to save her right eye and her thumb. They are doing everything they can to limit the amount of disfigurement she will be left with. Regina has a very long road of recovery ahead of her.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Regina, knows how incredibly kind and loving she is. She is an exceptional mother and stepmother, an incredibly supportive partner and friend, and a genuinely good person. She saved this man’s life, and sacrificed her own well-being during the process. She is selfless beyond measure. This woman is a warrior, a hero.

We, her friends, family, and community, are offered this opportunity to rally around her and show her just how much we love and appreciate her. Let’s support this amazing woman, during her time of need, just as she would do for any one of us.

If you can afford to donate, please do. Even $5 adds up! The next 6 months or so will be incredibly challenging, as Regina takes the necessary time off of work to focus on healing her body, mind, and spirit from this heartbreaking incident. Furthermore, her partner Jason will have to take a significant amount of time off of work to support her during her time of need.

At their request, 20% of the monetary donations will be redirected and donated to organizations focusing on local mental health support. In true fashion, Jason and Regina, selflessly, would like this to serve as a reminder, that mental health issues are no joking matter. This is a tragic incident, that could have potentially been avoided if better supports were in place for those suffering from mental health issues.

Jason and Regina would like everyone to know that this roommate did not intend to harm Regina, he only intended to harm himself. This man was kind, gentle, and eager to lend a helping hand, whenever he could. They wish him no ill will, and sincerely hope that this incident serves as the catalyst to get him the help that he so desperately needs.

It is our duty to end the stigma associated with mental illness, that prevents so many from reaching out for help when help is needed. No one should suffer in silence. It’s inexcusable. We have to do better, and now is the time. Let us show Regina that this selfless, life altering, near fatal injury did not happen in vain.

We would like to thank everyone for their kind words, support, and love. We ask that you continue to send prayers, healing energy, and love. And please, like, share, and donate, so we can get this wonderful family all of the support that they deserve during this difficult time.
