Before anyone reads this, I want to THANK YOU everyone from the bottom of my heart for taking the time out of their busy and important personal, educational, and professional lives to read this.

Amin (my fiance, who is a healthy and young 24 year old guy) was driving home on early sunday morning (6/26/16) from from work when he started having a lot of pain in his abdomen and he felt his bladder being full but he could’t urinate. He tried his best to be able to drive to the nearest hospital but he was having so much pain and couldn't drive with that pain so he parked in a parking lot he saw in front of him and call 911 for an ambulance. The ambulance took him to the ER at Portland Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. Going in he was all alone because I am currently here in Dominica (a Caribbean Island) studying at Ross University School of Medicine to be a physician myself one day and help people, and his mother and all his siblings live in Sacramento, California. When he got to the ER via the ambulance, ER physician and nurses attempted to place a foley catheter in him. They tried to place this foley catheter 6 TIMES with all the different catheters they had until they got this catheter stuck inside Amin!!!!! Amin kept telling them to STOP because his pain from when he came in went from really uncomfortable pain to excruciating pain that was unbearable and the WORST UNBEARABLE PAIN he has ever had in his life (This is coming from a guy who never complains about pain and has a very high tolerance for pain from his past including multiple fractures, appendicitis and an appendectomy surgery).

When Amin called me this is the first time I heard him CRY ever in my life and he said “they didn't stop, there were two guys on top of me and one guy forcing it in , they literally had a grunt on their face because they were using all their force to force it in, I felt like they were ripping my inside and I felt so helpless. I kept telling them to please stop and they didn't stop they kept going after I repeatedly told them and begged them to stop because I was having so much pain that I wanted to die rather than feel that”. There was so much BLOOD and blot clots coming out of the catheter after the ER’s multiple attempts of trying to force the catheter inside him. The nurse, the ER physician, everyone tried and they couldn’t take it out. After they got the catheter stuck inside him he was in very excruciating pain and they had him wait in that condition for 4-5 hours before they got him to surgery and he kept begging them to take him to surgery. I have never heard him cry and he was constantly crying this whole time because of the pain he was in. He said “I felt like I was being BUTCHERED around in the ER in an inhuman, in a way that no human being should ever be treated or be put through that pain and physical trauma they put me through while dealing with such sensitive parts of a person that could lead to permanent damage”.

After this 4-5 hour wait with the foley catheter stuck inside him they finally took him to surgery. They took him to do an emergency surgery where they did a CYTOSCOPY, TRANSURETHERAL RESECTION OF A BLADDER TUMOR, and REMOVAL OF FOLEY CATHETER. The surgeon was able to remove the foley catheter stuck inside him but he was unable to place another foley catheter inside him due to so much trauma caused to him by multiple improper attempts at foley catheter placement by the ER. The surgeon said Amin had so much swelling and scar tissue inside there because of the multiple attempts of improper catheter placement that caused him to have a URETHRAL STRICTURE and then the catheter being stuck inside him for 4-5 hours prior to the surgery that the surgeon was unable to place a foley catheter inside him and had to place a supra-pubic catheter on him for 2-3 weeks atleast. A suprapubic catheter is a tube that is used to drain urine from the bladder. It is inserted into the bladder through a cut in the abdomen, a few inches below the navel which is attached to a bag that he has to wear for urination. The surgeon said he needs wait for 2-3 weeks until he can go back in and do a follow up on everything that was found in the cytoscopy, and also for an urethral ablation surgery hopefully and maybe a urethroplasty if there are complication and depending on the condition and severity at that time.

He was admitted to the hospital for 4 days since early Sunday morning (6/26/2016) till early today thursday at 1 am because he was in excruciating pain and he was on constant pain medication. After 4 days he was discharged and went home for 12 hours and had to call 911 because his he couldn’t breathe, he was shivering, and his entire body muscles were spasming up, and he had a lotta pain in his abdomen towards his back. Right now he is back at the hospital again and is admitted there again with so much pain still with the suprapubic catheter attached to him, unable to walk or even sit up, or even talk much. We still don’t know what caused his original problem and now he’s dealing with so much physical trauma he went through in the ER, complications of the surgery, the excruciating pain, and still a long way to go until he heals and gets better and then has to go through more surgeries after his follow up with a urologist and surgeong including urethral ablation or possibly a urethroplasty.

At this point Amin has been hospitalized for almost a week with no information of how long he will be there, has been through so much physical pain and trauma, has had a removal of foley catheter with placement of suprapubi catheter and a transurethral resection of bladder tumor performed on him, still is hospitalized with a possible chance of post operative infection (most likely pyelonephritis) and after he heals from the surgery and the complications with all his pain and not getting better, he still has to go followup and also urethral ablation surgery or possibly a urethroplasty.

Amin works full time at ATT and goes to school full time at PCC and supports himself and his family by himself. He has such a big heart and from everyone who knows Amin they know that he is the nicest guy and is always the first one to be there for anyone and everyone he knows and even doesn't know. Right now due to his medical condition he is unable to even get up or sit up or even talk much and will have to be hospitalzied for a while with multiple surgeries to follow. Currently he is hospitalized, I will keep everyone updated with what is going on as I get updates my self. He is going through the worst time of his life and he needs everyones support he can get right now to help him get through this.

Many have asked how they can help support Amin and his family and decided to open a go fund me account to allow people who want to help him and his family. All donations made on this site go directly to support Amin’s medical expenses and his family to take care of him during this difficult time. No contribution is too small, any amount is greatly appreciated and I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart in advance for supporting him. It means everything to me, to him, and to his family.

Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.
