Bilirubin blanket for India

Donation protected
As some of you may remember, back in May of 2016 I visited India on a quest for a midwifery adventure for my elective placement. Whilst there, I was able to compare to the U.K some of the differences in culture, expectations of women and their families, as well as differences in environments where they laboured and birthed.
One of the places I visited was a birth centre, known as the Healthy Mother Sanctum, run by Vijaya Krishnan (Who is one of two only US certified Midwives in India).
Midwifery care is not recognised , or highly respected amongst other health professionals in India. I was truly inspired by Vijaya's determination to provide midwifery care which promotes normality, women centred care, and gives better choice to women, against the odds she faced.
Although the birth centre lacked in resources due to cost, the care and in depth information provided to women was of a very high standard.
Due to personally viewing the lack of equipment, this Go Fund Me aims to raise enough money to donate a Biliblanket. A Biliblanket is a portable device for treatment of neonatal jaundice ( jaundice is common amongst newborns, however some babies need treatment such as phototherapy to help lower high levels of bilirubin in the blood).
This device would prevent mothers and babies from being seperated while the baby receives phototherapy treatment. In India, being seperated may mean the baby having to travel out to a different hospital where they have the adequate equipment to treat. In most cases the mother and family is unable to take on this financial burden and travel the far distances to enable them to be together. Hence having this equipment would be much appreciated.
I have attached some photo's of both the birth centre and public hospital I visited to reflect some of my experience in India. I believe that all women deserve a positive birth experience. I can not change the world, but baby steps go a long way!
Thank you in advance for any donations! It means so much to me and I am truly passionate about reaching this target.
