BRING CHARLIE HOME!

BRING CHARLIE HOME! Our hearts are breaking for our dear friends Charlie & Mary Scott. Their ministry and love for so many is never ending. From Tennessee to Florida to Georgia, to every Young Life camp (Windy Gap and Southwind in particular), to their beloved school and community in Haiti, to the Church, and so much more. It has been devastating to hear of the trauma they have been facing this summer with Charlie’s illness: staph infected spine.  He had surgery in July and has not had mobility from his trunk to legs due to a fractured spine.  There is hope of rehabilitation but due to an infected rod, he had to repeat the surgery to replace the rod and have a plastic surgeon sew him together.  Charlie has been in the hospital since May and due to the current Covid restrictions he is in the hospital alone. 

The family (his four children, his twelve grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren) wants to get Charlie home to Mary where he can rehabilitate and they can be with friends and family, sing hymns and give thanks. We have talked with so many folks who are asking, "What can we do for the Scotts?" For Charlie to return home, they are going to need to bring in around the clock nursing care due to his illness and lack of mobility. Mary is also coming to terms with a challenging medical diagnosis, magnifying the need for 24-hour care. This is, of course, a very expensive endeavor.

Their family has been with them all summer long but the Covid situation has made this difficult. It occurred to us that one thing we could do is to share financial support. We started this Go Fund Me to help bring Charlie HOME!

We know there are folks all across the globe that want to let the Scotts know they have not been forgotten. If you cannot contribute financially, please add an encouraging note and share this link. We want them to know that prayers, love, support and care are continuous for Charlie, Mary and their family.
