Florence Volunteer Fire Department

Florence Volunteer Fire Department is trying to raise money to buy a new fire truck. The first new truck in 17 years. Our current truck is starting to show its age. It has responded to approximately 300 emergencies per year for the last 17 years. It's time to try to retire it to second truck.  We need $350,000.00 to buy a new truck and because The Cape Breton Regional Municipality Fire Serivce  will only fund UP TO $125,000 towards a new pumper. The Cab alone  is $130,000.

Florence Fire Department handles the largest coverage area in all of CBRM and we run more calls then some of the former towns. Yet our funding is a fracton of their's.
