My long time friend, Lisa Parker was diagnosed with Leukemia on Friday, July 1st. She is currently at Mayo Clinic Hospital Jacksonville, undergoing treatment. Lisa is expected to be hospitalized for continuous chemotherapy for at least 30 days. She started treatment Saturday and is already experiencing the side effects. Even in her current state, she remains faithful and hopeful for her health and is putting Colby first as he just turned 15 July 3rd.
First and foremost, Lisa is a single mom to Colby Grant. She is also a nurse at Mayo Clinic and has recently worked for N.E. FL Hospice. In her spare time she supports several charitable foundations, volunteers, and is an avid runner.
To those of us who know Lisa, she is a gentle soul with a country twang and is a very devoted friend. I have worked with Lisa for several years at Mayo Clinic and we have formed a bond caring for patients and each other.
Lisa and Colby are blessed to be surrounded by many family and friends. Given her current situation her main concern is for Colby Grant, as always. She had asked for prayers for herself and support for Colby. Lisa is expected to be out of work for at least six months. Her family is providing care for Colby emotionally and physically. However, she is concerned for his financial well-being during this time. With her blessing I have set up this Go Fund Me Account.
