I am writing this letter hoping you can be a part of my son Ross’s Taekwondo experience. Ross is one step closer to advancing his skills to becoming a great asset to the sport of Taekwondo. He has truly been blessed to have the best trainers, family, and friends, who believe in his dream as much as he does.
“There is power in the people who dream big and who try hard” Harold Klemp.
As Ross prepares for some important tournaments ahead in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Texas, in the next couple of months, he knows the challenges that will come ahead. These very tournaments will qualify him to enter the nationals, and will give him the opportunity to meet and challenge some of the best TKD athletes from all across the United States.
Ross is super excited to be a member of the USA Taekwondo Federation, We humbly ask for your prayers and financial support, or both to help support him along his journey. The goal is $5,000, but any contributions would be great. Funds received will help with uniforms, equipment, training and traveling etc., and offset the cost of tournaments and supplement those provided by parents. If you would be kind enough to contribute $20, $50, $100 or more, it would really help to reach this goal. Your support is greatly appreciated.
As my family and I say thank you in advance for supporting Ross however you can. We know “It takes a village to raise a child” Proverbs. We will continue to keep you updated with pictures and videos for those of you who follow him.
ROSS PENDLETON AKA ROCKY
2018 USAT MA. STATE MIDDLE WEIGHT BLACKBELT TAEKWONDO CHAMPION
HIS JOURNEY:
Ross Pendleton AKA Rocky began his training in Taekwondo at the age of 4, at SWABYs TAEKWONDO in Dorchester, MA. He competed in his first Taekwondo tournament at 4 years old, where he placed 2nd place in 5 years and under beginners sparring and forms at the Worlds Martial Arts Federation in 2013. His commitment and determination to best that he could be, would further show him excelling as being an undefeated tournament competitor. In 2016 he placed 1st in sparring and forms, and 2nd place in weapons. It’s been 6 years since Ross began his journey from a white belt to currently holding the 2018 USAT MA. STATE MIDDLE WEIGHT BLACKBELT TAEKWONDO CHAMPION. He is also a member of the USATKD. At this moment Ross is training to participate in Nationals, this coming November, in Texas along with many future tournaments.
His ultimate goal is to become a participant in the US TAEKWOND JUNIOR OLYMPICS.
Currently Ross is taking Kung Fu lessons at Yang's Martial Arts and also boxing at BPF Real Life Boxing & Fitness
OUR JOURNEY:
“Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
As the proud parents of Ross Pendleton, this journey has been a wonderful but challenging experience at times. The commitment on both of our parts:
the long hours of physical exercise 7 days a week, the dedication to his team, and long tournaments. One can only imagine the financial responsibilities that comes with funding his taekwondo dreams. But when we sit back and watch the journey of this well rounded young man, we realize how blessed we are to experience all of this growth with him. And although he still has a long way to go, we are certain we made the right decision to support his taekwondo career. And with the support of his trainers, family and friends we all look forward to seeing his confidence and experience unfold, every time he steps on the mat.
MISSION:
