Hello everyone. I have decided to start this In hopes to help my big brother, Tabu Gaither and his family of 5 children. My 49 year old brother was the epitome of a healthy life style of eating clean, not smoking, staying active, and visiting his doctor regularly. Until Saturday, May 15th, when suddenly he broke out into a cold sweat that was so unbearable, he pulled his car into a drug store and summoned emergency help. And THANK GOD he did because he was having a massive heart attack that almost claimed his life. After emergency procedures, tests, and bloodwork, he received life altering news that 2 out of the 4 major arteries in his heart were blocked 100%. Our lady of Lourdes cardiologists quickly inserted 4 stents, 2 in each artery, and kept him on the Critical Care Unit for close monitoring. To add insult to injury, the insurance company denied his claim for a life vest, which is equipment that would save his life if he were to have another sudden heart attack. He was discharged home on a hope and a prayer, and with some reassurance that his heart started to recover. The road ahead of him is now so full of uncertainties. Because of his heart health, His CDL profession that has been his labor of love for over 17 years, will not let him return to work for at least 6 months. There is also a chance his CDL license will be revoked indefinitely. Tabu will have to do expensive sessions of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and pay for lifelong medication maintenance, all while being a single father of 5 boys. Please donate if you can. Tabu can use the donations for medical bills, uncovered prescriptions, gas to and from rehabilitation, therapy and follow up visits, and to just support his family.
