Kim Maddox is a beloved wife, retired police officer, Olympian and friend of the Long Beach community. Kim has dedicated her life to helping others, and now needs our support.
Two years ago Kim was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer, which has metastasized to her stomach, lungs, and lymph nodes. Since September of 2014, Kim has been going through chemotherapy, which put the cancer into remission for a while, but now it is back and has spread throughout her body including the liver. Her body is too weak to continue chemo.
Kim’s friends and family are raising money to help her seek an alternative treatment that will give her a fighting chance to live. Kim says she feels that she owes it to everyone to continue fighting, to never give up, and to try every available option.
“I want to beat cancer,” she said. “If there’s something out there, I want to try it.”
