Hello to All from Steve Feehan And Tony Zmarzly.
We recently took ownership of Howards bar in Downtown Bowling Green, Ohio.
As a soon to be 90 year old business, we are very excited and ready to restore and upgrade some very specific items.
Being a long standing live music venue we feel improvements to the sound system and room acoustics is very important. We would also like to add some more stage lighting. This would be to improve the music experience.
We would like to add additional seating.
We also have plans to open up the front with outdoor seating and add a deck on the north side of the building for fresh air and summertime fun.
The bathrooms are in need of some new fixtures, plumbing and venting.
These are the big improvements we are asking for help with.
Improvements we have made so far include bar sinks, coolers, air conditioning, and many others.
We are very excited about moving forward and securing Howard’s for many more years.
Howard’s is a very unique gathering place, with a rich history of live music. As part of the famous blues tour known as the “Chitlin’ Circuit” in the late 1950s, B.B. King, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker were part of the Howard’s entertainment. Stories have been told about sharing a beer with Louie Armstrong, and catching Robin Zander's surprise visit to set in with the local bands. Howard’s has hosted many notable acts like Panic At The Disco and The White Stripes before they were famous.
Established acts like Method Man, Andrew W.K., David Allen Coe, Blind Melon, Fall Out Boy, Arron Carter and 21 Pilots have also provided entertainment on the Howard’s stage!
While all of this is fantastic, what we think makes Howard’s most enduring, special and lasting is the people and employees. We have visitors almost daily that come back to visit. They can’t believe how time seems to stop when you pass thru the door. That is what we are most passionate about. That is worth sustaining. We have every intention to keep it that way, while upgrading the needed necessities. Music and art has and will always be a point of renewal, hope and understanding who we are. Our goal is to promote and support all positive, healthy forms of art by providing a safe place and stage to perform!
We feel Howard’s is the perfect place for that!!
