Help Jesse Legler

Donation protected

On December 23, Jesse Legler went to St. Mary’s Hospital ED with light headedness. A CT scan revealed a large brain tumor. Jesse was transferred to the UW Hospital and underwent major surgery on January 2 to remove a tumor which was the size of a grapefruit. The surgeon was able to remove 95% of the tumor, but he will have to undergo chemo and radiation for the remaining tumor and have frequent MRIs for the rest of his life to monitor it.

Jesse woke up from surgery in great spirits and is doing well.  He understands that he has made it through the first giant hurdle with having the tumor removed, but still has a long road ahead of him. He will be in physical therapy to regain strength on his left side of his body that was lost due to the surgery and will continue with treatment.

Please help us in allowing Jesse, his wife Brooke and their two sons focus on recovery and getting Jesse back to being that fun loving, goofy, do anything to help guy that he is.  Any donation you can provide will be a blessing to Jesse and his family, and one less thing for them to worry about.

Back story:
For the past 6 months Jesse has been having light headed episodes.  With the episodes his face would flush and strain and his breathing would be heavy.  His heart rate would increase and his hands would get sweaty and shake.  It started out that he would have 1 or 2 episodes a day and they have increased over the past 6 months.  He went to his doctor after a couple of months. The doctor ran some blood test at that time and everything came back normal and there wasn't concern to pursue the symptoms any further.  A couple more months past and the amount of episodes increased to 5 or more times a day.  Jesse went to a new doctor and they did a cardio work up on him. All of the test came back normal and again there was no urgency to pursue the cause of the episodes any further.  In the middle of December the episodes continued and Jesse was able to get an appointment with neurology for February 23.  On the week prior to Christmas the episodes increased in intensity and frequency and Jesse was able to move the appointment up to December 26.  On December 22 Jesse had 17 episodes and the next day he had 9 episodes before noon and decided to be seen immediately.  The ED doctor had a CT done on Jesse and they found a large mass in the front of his brain.  Jesse was admitted that night and transferred to UW Hospital on Christmas Eve.
