Help Us Re-Paint Marsha’s Mural
Donation protected
As you may know, the Marsha P. Johnson mural that 3 artists worked very hard on was defaced. The fact that her face was intentionally painted over leads us to believe this was an intentional act of transphobia.
Unfortunately, Trans people deal with constant discrimination because of limited views on gender. Here at TPCOE we stand and uplift people of all gender identities and we condemn any harmful targeted behavior.
Marsha P. Johnson is an iconic figure in LGBTQIA+ history and we should all be proud she is from Elizabeth. Her mural may have been tarnished but her legacy could never be.
The artists who created the mural have agreed to re-paint it this month. With your support we can compensate them for their time and energy. Thank you so much for making noise about this already. Let’s get Marsha’s beauty back up ♥️
