Alfredo's fund

Our beloved friend, Alfredo needs your help. Alfredo has been denied long term disability benefits and needs to duke it out with his insurance company. This could take a while- an appeals process needs to happen and he is living today with uncertainty and cannot find peace, because he doesn't know what his future is without an income. He has exhausted ALL of his sick days, and his short term disability benefits will soon end after being on medical leave from work since November 2015 for symptoms related to the progression of AIDS. He has been worried about having medication, about having food to eat, and whether his landlord will allow him to stay in his apartment. He has many medical appointments (and therefore co-pays) and does not drive and walking with neuropathy in both his hands and feet is excruciating and exhausting. He feels that his spirit has been broken. I set the bar high because I have no idea what Alfredo’s future will bring. He is such a good person, and if his recent experience is any indication of how systems work, I feel like we as his friends could provide him with a safety net to take this worry off of his shoulders, allowing him to heal spiritually and financially at least. Alfredo has served those with AIDS for so long, and he deserves so much better than this. I don’t know about you, but I cannot sit idly by and watch this all unfold. Please give to this campaign to help him through this transition and to set his mind at ease. He and I have been friends for a few years now through work and the all of the money here will go to him for his needs- food, rent, meds, transportation.
