Bev Jorgensen's journey to health
If you have lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for even a few months you have probably come across the name Bev Jorgensen. She lives for her community, by encouraging, supporting, informing, loving and just about any way possible to lift up individuals. Working in the school district for many years she got to know several students and have watched them grow their families. Special Olympic families also have looked to her for advice and encouragement; she is the greatest advocate for real life interaction so that her son Greg and all special needs individuals get the live a real life.
Among the numerous involvements her greatest passion is Relay for Life. With family members and close friends going down the path she holds each person in her heart. Celebrating life; past, present and future, is what it's about. She will laugh, cry, worry, encourage and sometimes it will even come with force; all to turn each person in the right direction. As a life coach Bev will spend hours on the phone with anyone that needs an ear to listen. She is not there just to say everything will be ok, she will help you find a way to make it ok.
This community is a greater place because her hands have embraced each one of us. Now we get to finally help her. Recently Bev was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The news is brand new and the doctor visits have begun. Details should be made available this week. However the weakness and general not feeling well is a current reality. Her five children are amazing and are fervently taking care of household needs and repairs among many other needed support. Bev came to the valley from South Dakota almost 30 years ago. This means that her children and THIS community is her immediate family. Her love can reach around the world and does daily; but we are her family in every sense of the word.
There are many out there that are stepping up daily to give support. For those of us that want to help but don't know how here is our opportunity. Home improvements and treatments will be in full force. Bev is on a fixed income that limits her own resources. The family will be doing everything they can to subsidize, however I ask that the extended family steps up and gives the financial support to allow everything to take place with ease. Every penny will be accepted with great appreciation and love. No one deserves prayers like our own Bev Jorgensen.
