It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we are announcing the passing of our Tumorator, Randy.

Randy took his last fighting breath on January 20, 2025, at 7:35 pm at Banner Estrella Hospital. Our family and friends gathered around his bedside, expressing our unconditional love, support, and reassurance. We gave our last hugs, kisses, and goodbyes. Randy left peacefully knowing God was waiting for him.

Since our last update, Randy had undergone a total of 12 surgeries and survived 2 strokes. During the last year of his life, Randy had become fully dependent and bedridden. He had round-the-clock caregivers provided by family and had feedings and medication through a feeding tube. He had lost his speech, vision, and all mobility; however, we believe he still had some hearing.

On October 17, 2022, Randy and Selena gave us the greatest gift, our nephew, Levi Andrew Khamtan, who is now 2 years old and a spitting image of Randy. With his Mama’s curiosity and Dada’s playfulness, he’s brought so much joy to our family. It was an honor to witness Randy be a father; despite his limited mobility and speech, he never strayed from holding, feeding, or singing to Levi.

As time passed and multiple surgeries later, it was Levi who became accustomed to Randy’s condition and was always wanting to help care for his Dada. Whether it was patting his dad’s back when he coughed, adjusting his pillow for comfort, or turning on the suction machine, Levi ran to the occasion.

Randy was thoughtful, kind, had the biggest heart, and was a savage at roasting everyone and anyone he came across. He lived his best life and never shied away from welcoming and helping anyone in need. He loved teaching and sharing his wisdom with anyone who would listen. He was the biggest advocate for enjoying life and living it to its fullest with no regrets. If YOLO was a person, it would be Randy.

We want to thank all of our family and friends, new and old, who have supported and followed Randy through this journey. It’s been a long 8-year battle, and he couldn’t have gone into battle had it not been for the support and love from all of you. We hope to come together to give The Tumorator the send-off he deserves as he enters the gates of Heaven to enjoy his eternal life with the Lord.
