My brother Tony Bober, from Kearney of Pro Tint Window Tinting, and our mom, Merilyn, had just finished a full day’s work, when a freak and devastating accident occurred.
In the fall, Tony tore the ligaments in his neck, bruised his spinal cord and broke the C3, C4, C5, C6 & C7 vertebrae. He underwent surgery to repair the ligaments, vertebrae and the nerve damage within the spinal cord. While at UNMC, Tony started his rehabilitation and regained some movement in his legs and left arm, but the left hand, right arm and right hand were still paralyzed from the trauma.
On May 28th, he was transferred to the MaDonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Since his transfer to MaDonna, Tony is now able to stand and walk with assistance and his left hand is starting to regain its mobility, but the right arm and right hand are still paralyzed but the doctors remain confident that as the damaged nerves heal, so will the right arm and hand. Tony is working hard to regain his mobility and while he has made some progress, he has a long road of healing ahead of him. My mom and Kelli his wife my sister in law have been with Tony at the hospital they are having to stay at a hotel which is also a added expense, my Mom was also caring for my grandmother who has dementia at the age of nearly 94 so she is now in memory care until my mom can return to her care and that costs $5000 a month. I am trying to help my Mom, brother and grandma out during this very difficult time. Thank you❤️
