Tornado Rebuild for Brandon & Roxie Zehr
Donation protected
Yesterday Brandon and Roxie Zehr, along with their 5 young children, lost everything to the tornado that touched down near Chatsworth.
A significant chunk of their house, barn, vehicles, tools, toys, trees were all destroyed. An older section of the house is still standing but it’s doubtful that what is left will be repairable due to structural and water damage. Their insurance coverage will not cover the cost of rebuilding everything so this is our opportunity as a community to show what we can do when we work together.
Brandon was at work when the Tornado touched down. Roxie got the children into the basement before the windows blew in and sections of the house were tossed hundreds of meters across the field. Their minivan was lifted and crushed 50 feet from where it was parked.
Usually when an accident happens a family might lose a vehicle, a shop, a house or a barn. I can’t imagine losing everything in the short time it took that tornado to move across their yard.
The kids are handling things extremely well, considering the circumstances. One of their little ones held up two tiny action figures and told me “I found 2 of my toys!”. Right now they are still processing how much is gone, but I’m so thankful for the contented attitude of the whole family.
All money donated will go directly to the Zehrs for immediate and longterm rebuilding needs.
Thank you so much for being a part of helping this family start to put life back together!
