My Dad's Brain Mass Journey

My name is Darielle Connor. My father, Anthony Connor just had Brain Surgery for a Brain Mass which turned out to be a severely life threatening Brain Infection. All our lives my two brothers and I depended on our Dad, Tony to be the one to protect and provide for us. He was our Rock, our foundation. He has always done his job well. Both our parents are in the Medical field and have devoted their careers to caring for others. My mother became disabled 10 years ago at work and has been unable to work since. My Dad, typically, of him, took on another job to make up the difference. Due to my Mom's increasing health issues we have an enormous amount of medical costs not covered by insurance. During it all my Dad worked tirelessly to provide for us all. Then the unthinkable occurred. He was rushed to the hospital with stroke like symptoms. The scans showed a Brain Mass. An Abscess. So random. So insidious. Thankfully, it's not cancer. We are forever grateful for that. Now, the fight really begins. My Dad has been in the hospital for 8 days. They did Brain surgery. They put in a special Permanent IV In his arm for the multiple antibiotics and steroids he will need to save him from this infection. From here he goes to a semi-acute rehab facility for physical therapy and occupational therapy in addition to the four different antibiotics he has to get around the clock. He will be unable to work for a minimum of two months. With my Mom being disabled and even with my brothers and I helping out as much as possible we have hit a critical point financially. There are an incredible amount of costs not covered by insurance that have drained our family's finances. We are doing all we can to assist them but are now forced to reach out to others and are asking for help. Please help us help our parents.
