From homeless to Harvard
Donation protected
My name is Jocelyn, I am fundraising for my little sister, Alexandra Arguello, who will be the first in our family to attend college at Harvard University this upcoming fall.
Alexandra is from Pajaro, CA and recently graduated from Everett Alvarez High School. During her time in highschool, she faced many adversities as she was raised by a single mom, underwent multiple bone surgeries, and became homeless when our house flooded in the 2023 Pajaro tragedy. Even through online classes during the COVID-19 lockdown, Alexandra never lost hope and remained focused on her academics and managed to graduate with a 4.4 GPA, over 1,000 hours of community service, and an acceptance to Harvard University.
Our mother, Juanita Torres, became disabled after a failed arthroscopy surgery and her conditions have prevented her from working. So I am creating this campaign so that Alexandra is able to succeed at Harvard. Although she is receiving a full tuition scholarship, I would like to raise funds for her plane tickets to Harvard, textbooks, bus rides, cheerleading dues, and electronics she will need for her courses. My family and I appreciate any and all support. Thank you.
