Jesse's road to recovery

If you know Jesse, you know he’s a happy-go-lucky, sweet and caring, fun-loving, infectious-laughing guy.
He’s 8-year old Leighton’s father.
He’s Bob and Nancy Lozon’s son.
He’s Genny and Jake’s brother.
He’s Ashley Carron’s boyfriend.
He’s that smiling, helpful Best Buy employee.
He’s also the man whose life changed from a serious car accident on July 16, 2016.
His van lost control on a gravel road outside of Wallaceburg around 12:15pm. Unfortunately, Swan Line has no shoulder and the vehicle went into a steep ditch, flipping and rolling over him before throwing him 10 feet from the vehicle.
By divine timing, Jesse was found within 15 minutes of the accident by a couple who decided to drive down “a new road”. They held his hand and talked him through those five minutes before emergency services arrived. Then he was transported to Sydenham Campus in Wallaceburg, where he was stabilized for transport to the London Health Science Centre via air ambulance with life threating injures.
Upon arrival at Victoria Hospital in London, Jesse underwent a 9-hour surgery with three major goals: one to fuse his back, and secure neck fractures; another to plate and screw his broken pelvis; and the third to repair the extensive laceration on his head. Those surgeries went well, and Jesse is able to wiggle his toes and fingers.
After more tests, the list of injuries lengthened: extreme head trauma, several broken ribs, liver puncture, clavicle fracture, collapsed lung, clots in the lungs, etc. Besides the bones and internal damage, they are still monitoring the facial damage, including damaged teeth, a broken nose and some broken bones near his eye.
Every day brings something new- everything from little smiles, mouth movements or hand squeezing, to more x-rays, MRI’s, scopes, and surgeries. Next on the agenda is another pelvic surgery.
Not only is this a scary time for his family, it is also a very scary time for his son, who only wishes for his dad’s health, and to be able to spend his weekends with him again.
He has a very long road ahead of him to recovery. With a healing broken back, neck, pelvis, and ribs, we know he won’t be back to work for a while. The looming cost of hospital and medical care and the months and years of rehabilitation means huge financial stress.
We are confident that Jesse's infectious smile and spirit will prevail, but we are asking for your help to reduce the financial burden. Any donation is truly appreciated and will go a long way for his recovery and for supporting his family during this time. On behalf of the family, we thank you all.
