Family Lost Everything in House Fire

Hello, I am Mikaela Perkins and I am setting this fundraiser up for my mother and my step dad. They are not the type to ask for help, but they definitely need it now more than ever. On July 4, 2021, my mothers home was destroyed in a house fire. The fire started in the laundry room and spread through the garage, as well as through the walls of the whole house, melting and burning everything in its path.
My parents were able to grab a few pairs of shoes shoes after the fire was put out, and it was safe to go inside, but years of clothes, shoes, pictures, furniture, etc are destroyed. My grandmother was in the home at the time of the fire and was lucky enough to get out in time. Thank God, everyone was untouched and safe. However, we are now tasked with helping my parents start over from scratch.
My parents are small business owners, this is their only income. They own a restaurant in McDade, TX called Scales Cafe. They will have to keep the restaurant open, just to pay bills, hotel fees, etc until insurance can help and that will only do so much. I can’t imagine having to keep a business up and running, as well as picking up the pieces of everything that happened. Yet, through all of this trauma, and travesty, they have both remained so positive, and so full of hope and light.

All donations will go directly to my parents, to help with hotel fees (Red across gave them a hotel for two nights) getting new clothes, shoes, transportation to and from their restaurant, as well as helping them find temporary housing (short term lease, extended stay). If you are unable to donate funds, I am also accepting donations for toiletries, as well as clothes. I have included some pictures below, and will document their progress as these donations help lift them up.
