Help Jarrod on The Road to Recovery
My Husband Jarrod is a 41 year old Journeyman Power Lineman and an Amazing Man. On Friday, July 2nd, he had 2 MRIs done to figure out what was making it hard for him to walk and why he had no control over his right leg and weakness in his right arm/hand.
On Sunday, July 4th at 2:00pm we received a phone call from his doctor with the results of his MRIs. The doctor told us that his condition, Cervical Myelopathy (hcc), was severe and that he needed to go check into the hospital to be prepped for an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) surgery right away! They took him into Surgery at 9:00pm on the 4th of July. The surgery went really well and the next morning he was up walking laps, with a walker of course! He now has feeling back in his hand and control of his leg! Now that the scary part is over, he just needs to focus on healing and getting better so he can get back to doing what he loves, his Job as a Journeyman Power Lineman.
The recovery time, including the time he’s already taken off should be no longer than 8 weeks total, which is a lot of lost wages and extra stress. We are looking into all options to help us stay afloat while he recovers.
