Michael's Medical Funds

Donation protected
This year our son, Michael, has had some unfortunate setbacks in his life, and on June 29, he ended up in a hospital in Baltimore, MD to treat alcohol withdrawal. After contacting a long time AA friend, it was recommended to Michael’s wife and me that he go to a Recovery Center in Towson, MD following his hospitalization. When we called, we found out there was one bed available. We visited the center the next day and were very encouraged to discover they have what we consider a holistic approach to recovery that we have never encountered before in his recovery experiences. We felt very hopeful and sensed this was the place he was supposed to be in this season of his life. They understand that his recovery will take up to a year and are putting into place individualized treatments and strategies to help heal every part of his being and not just get him sober. Part of the treatment will be helping him recognize anxiety triggers and walking beside him to push safely and successfully through these triggers to complete necessary responsibility tasks. They also include the family as a very critical part of the process. In all his previous treatments, we were never included in the recovery process. His goal and our prayer is the restoration of his family as a healed husband and father to his 4 children.

To those who know Michael know he is extremely talented, creative and very relational. He loves working with and helping others, but alcoholism is a terrible disease that attacks the very gifts and talents a person has and slowly keeps that person from walking in the destiny the person was created to walk. It destroys trust and relationships and without intervention and help, it destroys families and most of all the person walking through the struggle.

Unfortunately the cost of the help and intervention Michael requires is high. The facility is $12,000 a month. They have told us that Michael needs to be with them as an inpatient resident for at least 6 months and perhaps up to a year of intervention. We are hoping to raise enough funds to help offset insurance and not put a financial burden on his family.

We appreciate your contributions and prayers as we walk with Michael through this process. We are hopeful to see restoration of Michael and his family.
