Support Christopher's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Christopher Harrell is a 50-year-old man from Texarkana who suffered a fall on New Year's Eve. This has led to an extended hospital stay. He desperately needs help with the costs associated with home health care once he returns home. A wheelchair and a bedside toilet have been graciously donated, but there is still a need for more mobility equipment and a nurse to come check on him daily. KTBS Channel 3 was kind enough to do a story on the situation, and the link to the news report has been posted below. Every dollar and every share of this fundraiser will help Christopher get back on his feet and back to work as an online tutor.
More about Chris:
Chris's mom was Connie Harrell, a fixture at Stanhope's on Stateline Ave. She framed art expertly there. She was born in Hughes Springs. In her spare time, she made quilts to donate through Spring Lake Park Baptist Church. His dad was Herbert Eugene Harrell, better known as Gene, or Nanoo by his grandchildren. He was born in Pittsburg, TX. Gene worked at Sherwin-Williams, tinkered with cars, and coached little league.
Chris graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, and then the University of North Texas with a BA in Spanish and a BA Social Science. He loves comic books, history, goofy horror flicks, telling ghost stories, and hanging out with family. His grandfather got him hooked on General Hospital, and he can tell you all the gossip going on in Port Charles. Chris taught Spanish at Liberty Eylau High School, before his fall he was tutoring students online.
He has struggled with his weight his whole life and is trying not to lose hope.
