Hey guys,
As so many of you know, Blakes little 5 year old life has changed drastically over the last tiny bit.
Let me fill you in!
Blake was recently admitted to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Blakes Mother & Father (Jenny & Justin) noticed some major changes in Blake approximately two months ago. Blake first started off walking with a limp. Complaining of ankle pain. Slowly since the beginning of July, different symptoms have shown their ugly heads. Blake started suffering with headaches, extreme anger outbursts, the limping had gotten worse, he started vomiting on and off, fevers on and off, excessive sweating, dizziness and so many others. Jenny took Blake to multiple different Doctors who gave different diagnosis such as Migraines and growing pains. With his parents not feeling comfortable with these answers but trying to trust in our Doctors decided to wait things out to see what would happen. Things progressively got worse and fast. Blake had to quit all sports including soccer, swimming, baseball and Gymnastics. He could no longer run, needed Daddy to carry him around, would lay awake all night screaming in pain. Asking why he couldn't run fast with his friends anymore or keep up to them any longer. He started regressing backwards in regards to sucking on different items and bed wetting. He became very sad that he could no longer run and keep up with his friends. He couldn't figure out why he was walking and running different than everyone else his age. Finally Mom and Dad brought him to Sick Kids. Upon arriving Blake was admitted right away for furthering testing. One of the first tests done was an MRI. The MRI came back and dreadfully has shown that Blake has multiple lesions on the left side of his brain. This is where things become worse for them. Blake is now seeing multiple teams of Doctors. Specialists, Bosses, Chiefs, Pediatricians, Experts from all over, Lumbar Puncture, Cat Scans, Xrays, Bloodwork, Ultrasounds, Urine Tests, Stool Cultures- literally everything trying to figure out the cause. He has lost a lot of his right side movements, has severe head pains that make it difficult for him to get out of bed. The back pain he now has is excruciating. He doesn't understand, he's 5, he wants to go home. He has also started loosing some of his short term memory. Some of the different teams of Specialists they are seeing are Immunology, Rheumatoid, Neuroinflammatory, Nurology, Metabolic, Optimology and the list goes on- everyone coming back with the same answer of them just not knowing. Blake was so excited to start his year in SK and make friends and learn, he loved his teacher but unfortunately he only got to attend school a couple days.
Jenny and Justin are staying with Blake around the clock. Justin has put his job on hold, they have bills piling up at home, parking, food, anything they might need has left them struggling. The last thing they need to worry about now is financial hardship, which is why I am making this. Blake has a little 2 year old sister at home that is missing her Mommy, Daddy and Brother so much. She can't figure out what's going on.
If you can help this family out at all, I know it would be so appreciated. They have done so much around our community and so much to help others, that it's now our turn to help them!
