Support to Families Displaced by Taliban Violence
Donation protected
Dear friends and family - the Talibans summer offensive in Afghanistan has displaced hundreds of families in Kandahar, leaving thousands of people vulnerable and without any support or resources from the government. The government of Afghanistan has given notices to these families to relocate into makeshift tents, often located far from their own family, community, and support network.
The number of displaced people is growing rapidly as the Taliban continue to pursue their violent campaign throughout the countryside. Displaced families are facing extreme food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, and other necessities. With the help of my cousin who is a doctor working in the front lines in Kandahar, I’ve begun to raise some funds to send back to help these vulnerable families. The money will be used to provide food and direct monetary support for these displaced families. No amount is too small, and anything helps.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
