Rebuild Fire-Destroyed Historic Gym
We are a small, rural community in southern Indiana. Tragically, on July 19, 2016 our beloved historic gymnasium was destroyed by fire. Our gym was built in 1936 with Works Projects Administration (WPA) funding and maintained through endless hours of volunteer service by members of our community.
Our cherished facility is more than a gym -- it is the heart and soul of our community. It is a community center, a wedding hall, a home for Cub Scout troop 343 and much, much more. In our small town, the gym serves all of us. It is where we come together to listen, to offer a helping hand and to celebrate each other and our community.
We are committed to rebuilding at the site of our lost gymnasium. We have a limited amount of insurance money for the facility -- much of which will be used for clean up and debris removal. The resources available will fall far short of the funding needed to rebuild a facility.
We are a resilient community, but we need your help. Our identity is tied to our small close-knit community and our facility is at the heart of it all. All funds received will be used to rebuild.
Prayerfully consider dontaing any amount - no matter how small. Together we will rebuild.
