Joe Procopio - Rest in peace
Joe's Story:
In May of 2018, my brother, Joe Procopio, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver. The next month, he underwent surgery to remove the cancerous mass from his colon. The surgery was successful. Joe underwent several rounds of chemo to shrink the tumor on his liver. He was declared NED (no evidence of disease) January 2019. He did a regular follow up in April 2019 and it was confirmed back on the liver and he underwent surgery #2 to remove the affected lobe of his liver. After the second surgery the doctors recommended chemo again to treat the blood that carries the cancer. Joe wanted his body to heal and opted out of chemo treatments. They have been monitoring him, and had to do Radiation on his lung in 2020; his levels started increasing. In February of 2021 they did a scan to find out it's back on his liver and in his lungs. Joe had his port put back in and underwent two chemo treatments in February of this year. This time the chemo made him so ill, he was weak and sore all over. He knew he couldn’t keep doing this. He prayed a lot for the right thing to do. After his second treatment his blood cell count was not at a safe level to receive the third round of treatment, which was taken as the sign he and his wife, Michelle, had been praying for.
This cancer has been a blessing in some ways, because it has brought Joe and his family closer together and created a strong bond of everlasting friendships and family ties. He and his family have grown to love the Lord more than ever, and it has given us all an attitude of gratitude. His children, grandchildren, and the rest of his family and friends love him to pieces. He is the very best dad, papa, husband, brother and friend; he represents pure love and all that is good in this world. Cancer has been a part of Joe’s body for many years now, and we appreciate the changes it has brought to us, but now it’s time to go!
We Need Your Help:
Today we are asking for your donations to fund Joe’s alternative cancer treatment. As most of you know, chemo is not for everyone, it kills the bad cancer cells along with all the good stuff, making it very hard on the body and spirit. Joe has had enough of chemo, and is looking for a better path forward.
Anyone who has ventured into alternative healing knows it’s quite costly and not covered by insurance. Joe has just started his first treatment of ozone therapy & vitamin infusions, along with other natural remedies & supplements that have been proven to be successful for stage 4 colon cancer treatment. The costs amount to hundreds a week, for an unknown length of time, as everyone’s condition and response to treatment is unique.
It is Joe's intention to create a non-profit for alternative cancer treatments if there are enough left over proceeds.
We are grateful beyond measure for your prayers, healing light, and donations during Joe’s journey to wellness.
