Let’s SAVE Pedro from Barcelona ZOO!

On a trip to Barcelona I decided to take a look round the Zoo which is in the centre of the city.

I don’t normally attend Zoos or places where animals are kept in enclosures or used for entertainment. For some reason, I went. Maybe for boredom or maybe just because I wanted to see a Meerkat... in a way I’m not glad I went, but for another part i really am.

The Elephants (maybe 3 or 4 of them) are kept in a very small space. They can barely walk lengths and one was so desperate for water it was trying to reach his trunk through the enclosure into a dirty pool of water for a chance at a drink. 

And then the Rhino.. on his own in an enclosure (well, cage) the same size as your average back garden. They are huge mammals just as well as the elephants and need space to roam free. The Rhino clearly looked sick and was laying in his own excrement.

 These animals need a better life and a transfer to somewhere we know they would be kept in much better circumstances.

With your donations we want to be able to eventually relocate him with the help from the government of Catalonia who have already taken interest in our petition/fundraiser, so much, that they decided to create their own petition but in Spanish, with the first help of a Spanish news outlet. 

Relocate him, provide him with better resources, give him a hope and a sense of freedom. This is what we want and what we hope to achieve. And with every penny we can move one step closer.

With money raised and donated we also aim to build big and wide social media platforms, a charity dedicated to these animals and eventually give these animals the recognition and the freedom that they deserve!

We can help Pedro and the Elephants. But who knows? Maybe we can spread awareness of all the other animals that suffer in these atrocious conditions.

If after reading this petition/fundraiser.. you decide to visit. Please pay close attention to these animals in particular. You will be able to realise for yourselves why we are doing this, and why we are pushing so hard for change.
