Local firefighter needs your help

Hello, my name is Dave Milliken and I’m raising funds for my younger brother Dan Milliken. I am extremely proud of my brother who is a firefighter in Franklin County Mo and has dedicated his life to rescuing others from tragedy. On Oct 23rd 2021, while clearing some trees on his property in Washington Missouri, he was struck in the face by a tree that he had been cutting. The impact, considered to be as much as 1,000 lbs of force, broke his nose and shattered his eye socket and leaving him, as he described it, in excruciating, burning pain.

 

After a few days in the hospital he was released to recover at home and to visit a reconstructive surgeon to save his eye. However, after two weeks he has seen some miraculous healing and is on his way to full recovery possibly without surgery at all.

 

Dan has lost two weeks of work so far and while eager to get back to being a first responder, the department won’t reinstate him until early December due to liability concerns. While he does receive a percentage of his normal pay, this will definitely put them in a financial pinch for keeping up with the bills and providing Christmas gifts for the kids. I tried to keep the goal modest and hopefully achievable and I’ve seeded this campaign with my own $200 donation. Please consider showing your appreciation with a small donation as well.
