Darlene Maxwell's Cancer Crusade #2
Donation protected
Our dear friend Darlene Maxwell beat cancer 26 years ago when her oldest son, Victor, was an infant. Darlene is now 49 years old, married, and blessed to be the stay-at-home mom for her 6-year-old twins. She was recently diagnosed with a very rare and fast moving type of stomach cancer - stage 1, possibly stage 2. Darlene will need to have chemotherapy, then surgery, followed by more chemotherapy. The surgery can only be performed by a specialist in downstate Michigan or out of state. Darlene is now a patient at the Cancer Treatment Center of America (CTCA) outside of Chicago and she will need to travel there frequently for care. Her spouse, who is the sole breadwinner for the family and of course accompanying her, has limited paid vacation time. Her first round of chemotherapy starts July 28. The medical and travel expenses (airfare, hotel, meals) will be quite costly and burdensome. We want to do whatever we can to alleviate unnecessary financial worries for Darlene and her family. Darlene is a friend to so many, a sweet, kind, generous soul, and always the first to offer support and help, yet she never thinks of herself and wouldn't dream of asking for help. So we're asking on her behalf. Your donation will help with medical and travel expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated. We also look forward to being one of the many lifting Darlene and her family up with positive energy, prayer, and healing thoughts as she begins this second crusade against cancer - to beat it once and for all! With gratitude,Jennifer and John Young
