Amidst theRubble:Help Needed to Evacuate My Family From Gaza

Dear World,

My name is Mohammed Abu Obaid, a 35-year-old Palestinian. I am married with two boys and two daughters.

Additionally, I live with my elderly mother, my brother who has a son and a daughter, and another brother who requires special care due to cerebral palsy.

I find myself in an urgent and dire situation in Gaza due to the ongoing conflict, which has turned our lives upside down.

Our once peaceful neighborhood has been reduced to rubble, and our home destroyed. This devastation has not only robbed us of our possessions but also instilled fear and psychological panic in my children.

Unfortunately, my daughter, Rima, was also injured during the war, leading to a fracture in her arm. This has added to our worries and increased the urgency of our situation.

My children deserve to live in peace and safety, free from the traumas of conflict. Their right to a happy and secure childhood should be a universal priority. The ongoing violence and uncertainty in Gaza have forced us into multiple relocations, resulting in the loss of our home and displacement to southern Gaza.

My wife, Mai, works as a family doctor and has been emotionally exhausted from treating numerous injuries during this conflict. She is now seeking mental peace for herself and our family.

Additionally, my elderly mother, Wafiqa, was injured by shrapnel from a missile, causing damage to her left eye and resulting in loss of vision.

Each day brings new challenges as the situation in Gaza worsens. My husband and I have lost our jobs due to the destruction, leaving us without any means to support ourselves. We are desperately seeking financial assistance to evacuate from Gaza to a safer location.
