On Friday, April 29, Shauna was admitted to the hospital due to a buildup of spinal fluid on her brain called hydrocephalus. During her stay in the hospital, and just one day before the surgery to place a VP shunt in her head, she was diagnosed with a Glioma brain tumor. In true Shauna form she took all of this news in stride. She kept a smile on her face and kept focusing on the positives. She even booked the church for her wedding from her hospital bed.
She has completed a 30-day round of radiation and has kept a positive outlook the entire time. During the second week of August, Shauna started chemo treatments which will last for 12 months.
We want to help alleviate as much financial stress as possible so that Shauna can focus on her treatments and even look forward to her upcoming wedding.
We are also holding a benefit at the Great American Pub in Conshohocken, PA on October 28 at 7:00 pm.
