Memorial Fund for Curtis Hill

Thursday, January 18th, everything started out as a normal day, but as we know, some of the most ordinary days bring the biggest uncertainty.

Curtis, before heading to work, stopped at a local gas station to fill up and grab a snack. Once Curtis went inside, he collapsed and started to have seizures. He coded, and they had to bring in the defibrillator to save him. He was sent to Grand Island and has not been doing well. The doctors have told family that the initial tests have him as non responsive and no brain activity. He was sedated, put on a ventilator, and had blood transfusions, and put into a medical induced coma at that time. He also was put on dialysis as his organs were starting to shut down.

Further tests show that he also had a heart attack, which is why he collapsed and had a seizure to start with. They have to wait 72 hours for the full tests to come back to really know what the outcome is for his brain activity.

Multiple tests on everything and MRIs find out his brain is extremely swollen and herniation from his skull.

The only thing keeping him alive is life support, and after almost a week of no activity, the decision has been hard, but we have chosen to send him to be with the Lord. We had to wait 72 hours for this tough decision for more test to determine what outcome the family was going to face.

We ask for your prayers, donations, as he leaves behind his kids, one of which he was the sole care provider for. These funds will go to covering the unexpected funeral costs and creamation services and then continuing to support and help his kids as they start to navigate their lives after losing their dad.
