Our little Lukas, the life of the party and a smile that can light up any room. Our little boy who is so warm, genuine, funny and loving.
Madison, Mitchell & Lukas Sullivan from Tahmoor NSW.
On the 11/07/2019 Lukas was admitted to Campbelltown hospital with nothing more then suspected appendicitis after have some abdominal pain and flu like symptoms, something very common. After a day of running tests and scans the heart wrenching news that no parent should ever have to hear was broken to Madison and Mitchell. There little boy has stage 4 neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is an aggressive and rare childhood cancer.
Lukas is all of 3.5 years old and is soon to start immediate and aggressive treatment involving chemotherapy, radiation and other forms of treatment at Sydney children’s hospital. This treatment is suspected to take a year, if not more. This is time off work that Madison and Mitchell obviously did not plan for.
We, Lukas three aunts, Teniele, Crystal and Josephine are helping to raise funds to take the financial pressure off Madison and Mitchell during this time that they need to not worry about work and be by their little man.
Although this horrible thing has happened to their little boy, the finances will still keep piling in. Including the costs of being in hospital (meals for Mitch and Madison) rent, bills, car repayments, utility bills, combined with the high costs of petrol and hospital parking for when they are allowed to have their short moments of normality to go home after Lukas treatment takes effect.
Other costs include things Lukas may need during his treatment (for example a stroller as he will not have a lot of energy but still loves going for walks with mummy and daddy).
Anyone who knows Madison and Mitchell know they both have a heart of gold and would not wish this heartache upon anyone. Madison is a newly graduated midwife, and has dedicated her life to helping little babies and mums. Now it’s our time to help madison be there for her baby when he needs her most.
Let’s band together and help make this journey even just a tiny bit easier for them.
