Hello, my name is Catherine Boehm. I am raising money for the Rance family.
George Marrion Rance, age 66, of Grand Rapids, passed away on October 18, 2022. He was born to Maynard and LaVica (DuShane) Rance on December 4, 1955, in Grand Haven.
George leaves behind his children Jay Rance, Brittney Card, and Brian Card; grandchildren Krysta Rance, Xavier Rogers, Olivia Card, Charlotte Card, Dakota Marcseh, and Bentley Barnett; siblings Dave Rance, Arlene Mason, Charles Fox, Bob Fox, Darlene Sherman, and Leona Doyle. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary Silsbee and Earl Fox.
George enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether camping, sitting around a bonfire or target practice. He especially enjoyed baseball. His love of sports influenced his brother Dave and his son Jay to play. George was even able to watch Jay’s no-hitter game in high school.
Those who knew George knew he had quite a presence: always bold, opinionated, and willing to say what was needed. He was a self-described rebel and “old hippie” and loved his Rolling Stones, The Eagles, and Bob Segar.
Most of all, George loved his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
There are no plans for a public service at this time.
We are all devastated by George Marrion Rance’s loss and were unprepared for the high cost of cremation services. We want to give George the memorial he deserves so we can honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of George’s final journey, as at a time of such sadness, the last thing a family should have to worry about is having to pay to say their final farewell. George did not carry life insurance which is why we are asking for donations at this time.

Thank you.
