Maloney Family Fundraiser

My dear friend, Amy, her husband John, and their two special needs boys have been through a number of medical crises over the past several years.

Most recently, 11-year-old Aidan had neurosurgery for a tethered spinal cord at Gillette on July 18th. The following week, he was admitted to Minneapolis Children's Hospital due to complications, and remains there now awaiting surgery for his chronic gastrointesinal condition. Aidan's last major GI surgery (with many other surgical procedures in the interim) in August 2014 led to sepsis, and doctors then had warned Amy & John that their sweet boy might not make it. So while they are hopeful this latest surgery will provide Aidan a better quality of life, they are understandably very nervous, as is Aidan himself.  This would be difficult for anyone, but especially so for a smart, sensitive boy like Aidan who has already been through so much, and also has Autism, Bipolar Disorder, and severe anxiety. No word yet on the length of this hospital stay.

Seven-year-old Finn (a former 30-week micropreemie) is currently participating in a Partial Hospitalization Program at Prairie Care for an emerging mood disorder & possible ASD diagnosis. Gillette Children's continues to work on controlling his epilepsy & sleep disorder. His last tonic clonic seizure was 64 minutes long on Christmas Day 2014. 

While Amy & John focus on everyone's health, I am hoping to help relive some of their financial stress. On top of struggling to pay their usual household bills right now, the Maloney family has the added expenses that come with each hospitalization.
*hospital parking
*buying hospital cafeteria meals for the parent staying with Aidan 24/7 (something the hospital requires)
*childcare costs for Finn while John is at work & Amy is at the hospital
*gas money
*extensive medical bills from Amy's massive heart attack on April 2nd
