Help raise funds for James' family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chris, and I am fundraising on behalf of my Aunt and Uncle.
Early on November 4th, my 19 year old cousin James was walking to work at the Aldergrove McDonalds and was critically injured while crossing the street. While medical aid arrived quickly, his injuries were extensive and sadly he did not survive. My Aunt and Uncle are understandably devastated to have lost their youngest son so suddenly.
James was a charming and engaging young man, with a passion for first aid, following in the footsteps of his Mom, who is an involved volunteer member of St. John ambulance. In this role, they travelled around the province to volunteer as first aiders at various public events, including the Abbotsford Airshow.. He often joined her while volunteering at the Aldergrove Legion. James spent many enjoyable years in 2nd Aldergrove Scouts , where his Dad was a leader.
Having just graduated from high school, he enrolled at UFV in the business program (but wanted to change to computer science because he "didn't like all the math"). James loved everything Star Wars and most of all, his family.
To compound the tragedy, just 6 days after James' passing my Aunt and Uncle experienced a vehicle fire while driving and their vehicle is a total loss. We are thankful that nobody was seriously injured, however the compounding trauma has deepened their stress at such a difficult time.
We are fundraising to help give James a proper celebration of life (not yet set) while we navigate through this difficult time. We also want to assist my Aunt and Uncle with some of the financial stress between the time off work, which is so desperately needed, and the loss of their vehicle.
Thank you for listening to our story.
