Karin's Krew

I am the mother of Karin Taylor.  She is the single mother of two children.  The younger one, Gracie, was born with Shone's Complex, a serious heart disease, which involves the whole left side of her heart.  Gracie has had open heart surgery, several heart catheterizations, surgery to remove part of her intestines, and she still faces more surgeries.  Karin's son, who is 15, was recently diagnosed and treated for seizures.  In May, Karin, who had no previous symptoms, had a massive heart attack, the one they call the Widow Maker.  She died twice in the cath lab, but they were able to bring her back by doing heart catheterizations and putting in a large stent.    The stent didn't work, and Karin had open heart surgery for bypasses.  That didn't work, so she had open-heart surgery again.    For a few days, she seemed to be doing all right, but her lung filled with blood.  She had surgery to place a tube into her lung to drain the fluid.  She didn't improve, so the doctor did surgery again to scrape the inside of her lung and diaphram.  That has improved her ability to breathe, but she is still bed-ridden with multiple problems.  Karin is a very strong, determined woman and a wonderful mother.  She has been through so much.  She needs prayers, but monetary support would help so much.  She is living in a house with a lot of problems.  The most important right now is that, in the midst of this heat, her air conditioner isn't working.  She isn't supposed to be in more than 80 degree heat, and there is only one room in her house that can stay below that.  She has a wealthy blood father who refuses to help in any way.  Her step-father and I are helping all we can, but she needs more help than we can give her.
