Saving Santiago with a Transplant
Donation protected
Family is the most important thing in the world, but sometimes family is not just blood related.
Today I am reaching out to you to help this extended family save the life of a beautiful child. His name is Santiago. He is the grandchild of the caretaker that takes care of my aunt, Tia Meche, in Peru. The problem is that they come from a disadvantaged background and need our help to go through this phase.
Santi has been diagnosed with massive intestinal necrosis. This happened when he was only 11 months old. With the help doctors in Peru, support of his family, and Santi’s heroic and positive attitude, he has reached the age of two. As of today, he has successfully survived two surgeries. Yet he is weak and in desperate need of professional medical help.
These two surgeries led to the removal of 95% of his intestine. Santi is living in the hospital because he can only be fed through medical equipment. He URGENTLY needs a complete small-intestine transplant. Unfortunately this is a highly complicated procedure that is not performed in Peru, where he lives.
We are raising money in order to help his family cover the costs of the surgery abroad as well as the expenses associated with it. We are doing everything we can to save Santi’s life.
Any contribution will undoubtedly help him and will be GREATLY appreciated.
