Willy's Graduate School Fundraiser
Year 2 UPDATE!!!
Willy has started his second and final year of his master's degree at St. Joe's.
He finished the 2016-17 academic year with a 3.6 Grade Point Average.
His professors rave about him and are in the process of trying to establish a scholarship for other promising science students from Kenya.
Willy is very active with the Catholic church on campus as well as teaching science in local Phiadelphia public schools.
For the 2017-18 academic year, we are again asking for your support.
Willy is on scholarship, covering all of his tuition but not his student health insurance. He needs to pay $1,785.00 for the rest of the entire 2017-18 year to get him through.
Thank you in advance for any contribution you can make.
PS -- At the encouragement of his professors, Willy is also currently applying for PhD programs in the area. His current #1 choice is Jefferson, where he has applied for a fully-funded program starting next year.

My name is Willy Munyao, I currently live in Kenya and will be pursuing my graduate studies at Saint Joseph's University this fall.
I have been awarded a partial scholarship and teaching fellowship to attend Saint Joseph’s University to pursue a Master’s degree in Biology. I am fundraising to cover the rest of my 2016-17 school tuition and related course fees and textbooks.
I hold an honors degree in Biochemistry and Zoology from the University of Nairobi. I have worked for Bridge International Academies for five years (first as an Academy Manager, then promoted to an Area Manager).
Bridge International Academies provides high quality education to the more than 100,000 students who attend Bridge’s more than 400 nursery and primary schools across emerging markets in Africa and Asia.
When I joined Bridge in 2011, my major motivation was to empower children from low-income communities and transform them into successful people. Changing the lives of these kids is all I have ever wanted to do.
In addition to being a graduate student in Biology at Saint Joseph's University, I have been awarded a fellowship opportunity working with teachers in Philadelphia public schools to implement hands-on science learning activities.
Helping public school pupils embrace science is an exciting venture for me. Science education outreach had been an interest area for me for so long and this fellowship is a perfect fit.
I am trying to fundraise to cover the last bit of my school tuition and related course fees and textbooks.
I hope you’ll support me as I take this next step in my life journey.
Thank you and God bless you!
