On February 21, 2016 at 5:19PM, our queen went to see her KING! While we miss her, we know that her legacy will forever live on. Before her death, she recieved chemo and radiation for over 8 months. She often cried as she walked into radiation to see the many children from ages 6 -18 being treated for the same thing she was diagnosed with...CANCER! She said, "If God brings me through this, I want to make sure that others hear my story and be encouraged! Today, as we enter into the season of giving, we the McKenney family would like to ask you to give to our mother and wife's ...Jessie Mae McKenney Memorial Scholarship Fund! We would like to give out 5 / $1000.00 scholarships for our first year! As it grows each year, we would like to touch as many children as our mother have touched in her 50 plus years in education. Also, please do not hesitate to donate to the Jessie Mae McKenney Media Center located at Westarea Elementary School under the leadeship of her former student, Zakiyah Backman. The above presentation shows the numerous amount of support from family, friends, organizations, clubs, and former students!!
The above presentation is the Dedication of the media center named in her honor!
Many nights we would sing together to help the pain go away! But she never complained...
Christmas Morning 2015, Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child"
As always, Christmas Night , we are still singing, Thank You Lord!
This TEDDY BEAR reminded her everyday of the support she had! I'll Be There! Many nights we would sing together to help the pain go away! But she never complained...
