Rob’s Road to Recovery

Dear Friends and Family,

 

Many of you have asked for updates on the recent whirlwind medical journey of my brother. Rob was admitted to the ICU on Sunday night, February 13th, where doctors discovered he had pulmonary embolisms and a diagnosis of pneumonia. An underlying issue surfaced of extremely low White Blood Cell levels which has extended his stay in ICU. He was recently moved to a larger hospital in Fort Worth that is better equipped to treat his conditions. The past few days have revealed Laurie's unimaginable strength, Rob's perseverance and high spirits, and deep bonds of family and friendship. We all thank everyone for helping with Braden, Jake, and Hailey, for dropping off meals, for checking in, and for your prayers. Their faith is strong, as is their village.

 

I believe that knowledge is power and along with additional testing comes additional information that will allow for the proper treatment plan. Unfortunately, that also means additional expenses as we await answers. Providing Rob and Laurie relief from the financial burden is something they would never ask for...which is why I am asking for them. If you are in a position to help, I know they would be beyond grateful. The outpouring of support has been so great that we may never be able to personally thank everyone for their kindness, generosity, and prayers. Please know that, even if they are not able to answer your call or text, Rob and Laurie feel your love during this stressful time and appreciate each and every one of you. We believe that every day will bring more answers and more healing.
