Michelle Rodriguez Scholarship

I’m writing on behalf of my sister Michelle Rodriguez- Knag a 12- year survivor of Cancer. As an athlete Michelle Rodriguez was dedicated, passionate and faith driven to the very end. Michelle was a multiple UIL State competitor for Seguin High School and inducted into the Seguin Hall of Honor in 2001. Her performances in high school earned her a Division I scholarship to The University of Texas at San Antonio. Michelle has raced 100’s of races, learning life lessons every step of the way. Little did she know that the races she ran would one day prepare her for the most grueling race of all, against the most unforgiving challenger, CANCER. In 2004, while trying to get pregnant, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. This type of cancer continues to spread to other parts of her body. Michelle endured bouts of cancer in her breasts, spine, lungs, both femurs, her neck, twice to her brain and twice to her spine. Michelle has fought Cancer with every ounce of her being, not knowing how to stop trying. She is the embodiment of determination, inspiration and faith! Cancer has ravaged her tiny 105-pound frame time and time again, yet she remains faithful in the journey. Now in the final lap of race of her life, she has been hit harder than ever as doctors have given her 6 to 12 weeks of time with us. My sister has fought the good fight, she has finished the course and she has kept the faith (Timothy 2:47). Soon she will do what God has always intended for her to do, RUN! In my sisters honor please help me raise money to start the, “Michelle Rodriguez Inspirational Scholarship,” for Seguin High School student athletes to honor Michelle’s amazing race. The scholarships will go to student athletes who have a love of running, a passion for education, an unwavering faith for life. We thank you for any contribution you may be able to make.
