Ramiyah's Kidney Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Reyanna Johnson and my oldest daughter, Ramiyah Johnson has kidney failure or ESRD
(End-Stage Renal Disease), which is the last stage of chronic kidney disease. She was diagnosed in July 2011 and the news seemed unreal at the time because I was uneducated about the illness due to the fact that I have never experienced this in my family or within my life! During this process, she was on various medications for blood pressure problems as well as pancreatic issues. She overcame that hurdle, focused on her school work and in June 2012 she was honored at her 8th grade graduation as Class Valedictorian! Once accepted into her dream high school, Morgan Parck, everything seemed to be fine. So I thought... Her condition took a turn for the worst and in October 2013, she was hospitalized for 4 days. Her kidneys were getting weaker by 40%. Rush University took my daughter in with great professionalism and care, increasing her medications and monitoring her closely. Myself and Ramiyah thought it would get better from this point. Ramiyah joined the the majorette team and started dancing and performing to ease her mind from the stress of it all, once again using one of her hidden talents. Again, her condition worsened. My baby became weak and completely lost her appetite, she was hospitalized again and the doctors discovered her kidneys were only functioning at 20%.

Our lives changed forever in January 2014 when the doctors told me she was going to have to be on dialysis in order to live! I passed out in the office and literally went blank! Since March 2015 my daughter has been on full dialysis (Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's) and she attends these sessions faithfully. And all of this happened to my baby her SENIOR year! She only went to school part time, is always sick, and has had 4 outpatient surgeries with in this time frame with another coming up August 19th. She missed over 60 days of school but still graduated with a 2.5GPA.

With all this, I am telling you all that it has been hard for me as a single parent and only receiving help from my mother. I have ups and downs with insurance issues, loose hours at work to care for my daughter, and not making ends meet at all! I CAN NOT do this alone anymore! My main reason for wanting to raise money for my daughter is because I am having issues with Medicare. I thought everything was covered and that she would be on the list to receive a kidney but she is not eligible because I owe $1,465.00 for her premium coverage in addition to another bill coming in for $166.00. She can't get on the list until this is paid!

I did not want to do this cause I handle things on my own BUT I WANT MY BABY TO LIVE--- and her kidneys just dropped functionality again last week. Her doctor told me that they are functioning at 10% and the dialysis treatments are starting to take a toll on her overall health.

Not only do I have Ramiyah to tend to but I also have 2 other daughters, Raven (17) and my baby girl RaSata (15), who has been by my side this entire time! It has really been rough on us. But God has carried us and I know she will receive this new kidney!

The money fundraised will not only be used to pay for this medical bill but also for any other foreseeable and unforeseeable needs that Ramiyah will need before and after her anticipated kidney transplant. We know that this is a lot of money for one person to pay, but we believe that if we all come together and pitch in even as little as five dollars then we can reach this goal in no time! We are asking for people to donate as soon as possible so that she can be placed on the list to receive a kidney as soon as possible!

I know this was a lot to read but I am a real mom and this is my story!
